Set in the 1870s, the story follows Danish soldier Jon (Mikkelsen), who brings his family to live in America after his army is defeated by the Germans. When his family is brutally murdered Jon gets his revenge but in doing so enrages the brother of the man he has killed, ruthless gang leader Delarue (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), who is feared by the locals in Black Creek and is determined to bring Jon down.
