Johnny Victor (Rogers) is soon to marry the wealthy financier Louis (Baker) once his divorce has finalised but her future plans take a drastic turn after she meets an old friend, Emile (Herbert Lom), to whom she offers a loan so that he can afford to pay his wife’s medical bills. It later transpires that the money was borrowed to repay a debt to her future husband, Louis, who is secretly the leader of a criminal gang. However, while overhearing a conversation, Johnny misinterprets that Louis is being dishonest about his divorce, leading to a chain of events which may lead to disastrous consequences.
